Dr. Ilana Etelzon is a highly skilled Pain Management Specialist with extensive experience in Interventional Pain and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Alisa Linkova, FNP-BC, MSN, CRRN is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who provides comprehensive pain management to patients of all ages. She performs in-office assessments, minimally invasive pain interventions such as: dry needling, trigger point injections, visco-supplementation therapy, intra-articular laser therapy, ozone, PRP, prolotherapy, botox and many other ultrasound guided minimally invasive procedures in order to relieve neck, back and joint-related pain.

She works in collaboration with other physicians in order to accurately diagnose and treat various pain conditions while providing patient-centered care focused on eliminating pain and restoring function.

Alisa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hunter College, after which she pursued a career in Nursing and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Long Island University. She advanced her career further and earned a Masters of Nursing from Long Island University while working as a bedside RN in New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital over a 7 year tenure. She is board certified in multiple specialties, including Board Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) by the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-BC).

Alisa understands how acute and chronic pain can negatively impact a patient’s quality of life, therefore she strives to alleviate pain by providing compassionate care to all patients, using a holistic approach in pain management that includes taking into account a person’s lifestyle and activities of daily living to treat the person individually and as a whole. Her goal is to treat her patients on both a physical and emotional level, as both acute and chronic pain can greatly interfere with quality of life. She strives to develop a mutually trusting relationship with each one of her patients and recognizes the importance of listening and understanding how pain impacts their lives.

Esther Goldenberg, FNP-C, MSN, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive expertise in comprehensive pain management for patients of all ages. With over a decade of experience in major hospital systems like NYC Health & Hospitals, Ascension Health, and Mount Sinai, Esther has honed her skills in the operating room across neurology, orthopedics, and robotics. Her approach is rooted in compassionate care that includes all aspects of a patient’s well being, by recognizing that each patient’s pain journey is unique and impacted by their lifestyle and daily activities.

Esther’s path began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which led her to roles as an RN in operating rooms, where she not only provided skilled patient care but also became a leader and educator for entire operating room teams, guiding nurses and technicians alike. During this time, her passion for providing even more comprehensive care motivated her to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing from Long Island University. This achievement allowed her to expand her scope as a healthcare provider and ultimately become a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-C).

Today, Esther specializes in minimally invasive pain interventions and performs a wide array of in-office procedures, including dry needling, trigger point injections, visco-supplementation therapy, scrambler therapy, intra-articular laser therapy, PRP, Botox, and ultrasound-guided techniques for targeted pain relief. Her goal is to alleviate pain by treating patients on both physical and emotional levels, fostering a trusting, empathetic environment where she listens carefully to understand the full impact of pain on their lives. As an Interventional Pain Nurse Practitioner, Shilpa provides comprehensive care for patients suffering from pain conditions, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose, treat, and manage pain effectively. This role involves direct patient care, collaboration with healthcare teams, and patient education to enhance quality of life.

Shilpa earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Wagner College’s Accelerated Program, where after she then pursed a career as a bedside nurse specializing in multiple areas such as: medical surgical units, critical care units, pediatric units, and postpartum units. She advanced her career later by attending, Seton Hall University where she graduated with her Masters in Acute Care Gerontology. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (AGACNP-BC.)

Shilpa believes the goal of pain intervention is to reduce pain, improve function, and enhance the quality of life for patients dealing with chronic or acute pain conditions, such as back pain, neuropathy, arthritis, or post-surgical pain. With a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach, Shilpa hopes to help patients manage pain effectively and regain a sense of normalcy in their daily activities.

Dr. Carrer graduated medical school from SUNDY Downstate Medical School in 2006 and did her residency at SUNDY Downstate Medical Center. She did a spine fellowship in UCSF San Francisco at the renowned USCF Spine Center in 2012 and then started her practice treating professional dancers.

Dr. Carrer treats all gamuts of musculoskeletal disorders, including acute sports injuries or overuse conditions, occupational injuries, and high-energy injuries such as work-related or motor vehicle accidents.

Patients are treated with a holistic approach and are offered treatment and education in traditional and alternative medicine.

Dr. Carrer has published several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, as well as delivered speeches and presentations at several national and international conferences. Dr. Carrer is a member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the North American Spine Society, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Surgery.
